UNEX Charity Business Run

On Thursday, 13 October 2016, our employees joined the nationwide call entitled “Hands On Your Breasts and Run Out Of The Office - Give Your Balls Some Fresh Air!” The aim of the project is to involve 10,000 corporate runners from all over the Czech Republic thus breaking through certain barriers in combating cancer, an initiative led by the Hands on the Breasts and STK for Men foundation, which consists in meaningful prevention and an awareness raising campaign.

UNEX presents itself at FOND-EX

During the first week of October, UNEX took part in the FOND-EX international foundry fair taking place as part of the Brno International Engineering Fair (MSV). FOND-EX is the third largest specialised foundry fair in the world and UNEX has been a regular participant for several years now.

UNEX CUP 2016

This year, UNEX and trade union representatives came together to organise the 7th annual five-a-side football tournament, the UNEX CUP, for their employees. The tournament pitted a total of ten teams against each other, representing individual departments and manufacturing services of the company, including teams from our plants in Olomouc and the Slovak town of Snina. The victor of this year’s UNEX CUP was the team fielded by CPM (Central Material Preparation Department).

11% Year-on-Year Gross Wage Increase in UNEX

In the first half of this year, the metallurgical and engineering group UNEX recorded the year-on-year gross wages at its production plants in Uničov-Brníčko and in Olomouc increased by 11%. The collective agreement, signed by the union representatives in February, guaranteed a total increase of wages and other wage benefits by 8%. However, thanks to performance remuneration, the employees may earn much more.

Trade fairs – thank you for your visit

In April, we participated in two major trade fairs. For the third time in a row, UNEX participated as an exhibitor in the International Trade Fair BAUMA in German Munich. This trade fair is held every three years and is focused primarily on construction and earth-moving machinery, mining and loading equipment, handling and lifting equipment – our major market segments...

The Open Doors Day 2016

As every year, UNEX opened its gates to general public on 1 May. The Open Doors Day could boast of an attractive programme and visitors could see the large production premises of the parent plant in Uničov. From early morning, children could frolic in an inflatable excavator; the more courageous ones could try riding an electric bull. Another attraction included popular children’s workshops...

UNEX has completed its strategic investments in Uničov and Olomouc

UNEX has finished two important investment projects in its foundry facilities. In Uničov, it invested CZK 244.4 million into the broadening and modernizing of the production capacity of the foundry, the investment of CZK 24.9 million in Olomouc was directed into environmental measures, specifically into decreasing the amount of solid pollutants released into the air.

UNEX will modernize the giant mining machine for Sokolovská uhelná

UNEX has concluded a contract with Sokolovská uhelná for overhaul and reconstruction of KU800/12-R bucket wheel excavator. The objective of the contract of total worth CZK 275 million is to modernize and extend the service life of the bucket wheel excavator, which ranks among the biggest mobile machines, which were ever made on Earth.
