This year, the public media space has seen an increase in articles mentioning the word "UNEX." However, only a small portion of these texts actually refer to the engineering and metallurgy group UNEX, which has manufacturing plants in Uničov, Olomouc, and Snina. Let’s briefly introduce the other “UNEXes”:
UNEX EV – A young company founded in 2021 in Amsterdam, focusing on innovative electric mobility technologies and their applications across various industries. It has regional branches in Portugal, Peru, Mexico, Thailand, and China. Currently, the company is involved in electrifying heavy trucks in Thailand. A total of 4,200 electric trucks will be equipped with a battery designed for quick and easy swapping. The project aims to solve the problem of long charging times during long-haul transport. There are plans to expand this project to other Asian regions, as well as to Europe and Latin America.
UNEX UGV – This is not a company but an amphibious unmanned ground vehicle developed to meet the complex demands of modern military and other operations. It is the result of Czech-Ukrainian cooperation, with the official manufacturer being the Czech company UGVR Machinery s.r.o. The UNEX UGV is fully electric, remotely controlled, amphibious, and can carry up to 1,700 kg of cargo over any terrain. It can be used for logistics, casualty transport, patrolling, firefighting, and more.
