UNEX Group’s foundries beat all records, despite the recession
The UNEX engineering and metallurgical company’s investment strategy and concentration on the growing markets resulted in the record-breaking performance achieved by its foundries. The Group’s considerable investment of more than 350 million in its metallurgical plants over the last five years has been crowned with success.
Open day on May Day
The UNEX mechanical engineering and metallurgic concern commemorates 60 years of starting production in the then "Uničovské strojírny" (Uničov Engineering Works), state enterprise, established in 1949. The 60th anniversary was remembered by period photographs within the traditional May Day Open Door Day held on the UNEX grounds in Uničov-Brníčko on Saturday, 1 May 2010, from 8 am to 12 pm.
UNEX has the most advanced foundry of its kind thanks to massive investment
The UNEX engineering-metallurgical complex has completed an extensive modernisation project that should result in creation of the most modern foundry plant in the Czech Republic and one of the most advanced foundries currently in Europe. In total, 14 contracting companies were involved in the project and the Mining College - Technical University Ostrava, and the Metallurgical Department of the Engineering Technology Institute of the Technical University in Brno also participated in it significantly.
UNEX working environment considerably improved for foundry personnel
The UNEX engineering-metallurgical complex is completing the “Exhaustion and Stabilisation of Combustion Products from Electric Arc Furnaces” project, the aim of which is the improvement of employee working conditions and minimising the escape of dust particles into the ambient atmosphere in its UNEX Foundry subsidiary company.
UNEX Slovakia: A new welding machine has been installed in Snina; the paint shop for large welded fabrications has been completed
UNEX Slovakia, a subsidiary of the UNEX engineering-metallurgical complex, has finished the construction of a new hall at its plant in Snina, which will enable the surface treatment of large dimension and high tonnage parts to be carried out. Trial production at the new unit commenced immediately.
