UNEX successfully competes in the Indian Market
Uničov, 7 November 2005
The metallurgical and engineering complex UNEX a.s. agreed on cooperation with the Austrian company Voest Alpine Materials Handling and the Indian company Larsen & Toubro Limited in the production and delivery of bucket-wheel excavators with the bucket volume of 700 l. The first order of two excavators is determined for coal mining in a mine of the Indian company Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited.
"The cooperation is important for us not only with its content. It is also an excellent reference," says General Manager of Unex, and he adds: "It seems that we are able to be competitive globally and successful even on markets that are geographically exotic for us. Thanks to the cooperation, UNEX will manufacture key components of these large machines, amounting to a hundred million crowns in the following 12 months."
Excavator KK700 will weigh roughly 1,400 tons, the distance between the axis of rotation and the end of the loading conveyor will be 35 metres. The theoretical capacity of the machine is 3,400 m3/hour, the long-term effective capacity is 1,400 m3/hours. The excavator will be able to move separately at the speed of 8 metres per minute.
