UNEX invests millions of Czech crowns in the education of its employees
Uničov, 21 February 2011
UNEX metallurgical and engineering group is going to invest almost 10 million CZK into the education of its employees in the next 23 months to cover just two projects. From the whole training run, the company expects primarily to improve the skills to meet the requirements of demanding customers and to acquire new competencies to strengthen group competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
"We have an opportunity to provide our German and Austrian business partners with large welded structures used in power industry, produced with ultra precision and according to special technology standards," explains Jan KLUS, UNEX Group HR Manager. "Our products are subject to strict quality controls, both in term of the final product and the whole production process.
Although our staff are among the most experienced in their industry, it is increasingly necessary to provide them with special training to master new technologies".
In the last five years, the UNEX group has invested over one billion CZK in its development, which brings new production opportunities and wider production capacities. Staff qualification improvement, as well as acquiring new production processes, is therefore the next logical step in company development.
Within two separate projects, one for Moravské železárny in Olomouc, and a second for UNEX in Uničov, 12 separate training courses shall be provided to teach 167 employees in total. Courses are designed for both the blue-collar workers, who shall receive
theory and practice in new production procedures, and technicians and managers, who shall obtain new skills in using the latest software tools and methods with the aim of minimising production breakdowns.
Education projects are supported from the Human Resources and Employment Operational Program, whilst 85% is covered by EU funds and the rest by the Czech national budget.
