UNEX has a new paint shop of large weldments

The engineering-metallurgic complex UNEX has opened a new workplace, a hall for surface finishing of large-size and high-tonnage components. The new paint shop enables execution of complete surface anti-corrosion protection of welded components of maximum dimensions of 5.35 x 7 x 32 metres (height x width x length) and weight up to 40 tons.

Up to 80 thousand square metres may be treated by sand-blasting and varnishing in the new hall every year. UNEX invested CZK 32 million in the establishment and equipment of the new workplace.

During the pilot operation components of harbour and hall cranes and enormous transformer boxes are being mainly implemented in the new paint shop. UNEX expects increased demand for these lines.

With the new paint shop, the production capacities of UNEX were extended significantly. In 2005 UNEX opened a facility for surface finishing of medium-sized welded components up to the length of 8 meters and weight of 8 tons. As a result, UNEX can respond to market needs more flexibly, which enhances its competitiveness.

The new workplace meets strict ecological standards, including emission limits and elimination of negative impacts on pollution of ground water.
